Covid-19 Has Made Us All Better
In the midst of negativity, there are surprisingly many good changes happening too
1/ Life Slowed Down. I admit it: my life was fast-paced before. Many people enjoy this because it keeps them from thinking. Doing is associated with working, which in turn means job security. Therefore, busy means good. But does it really? When you are forced to slow down or even come to a stillstand like now, you can take the time to see your life better and reflect if you are truly happy with your activities, your relationship, and the direction things are going. By thinking more about my life, I re-confirmed my values and made commitments to bigger goals. Isn’t that a good thing?
2/I Am Spending Less Money on Crap I Don’t Need. No Uber or Lyft, no Starbucks, no haircuts or manicures, no vacations, no restaurant meals, and no new clothes. We are all actually saving a ton of money by being in lockdown. This isn’t fun (I AM SCREAMING INSIDE FOR MY LATTE) but the numbers don’t lie: it is a healthy restriction for my wallet. It is a unique opportunity to re-think what you spend, and what can truly live without or at least cut back on once this is over. I am actually challenging myself to keep it up post-lockdown and spend A LOT less on extras.
3/ I Am Taking Way Better Care of Myself. Getting more sleep, no late nights partying or overworking, eating…
