Here’s How to Save Us from the Corona Virus
1/ Information is Power.
Make sure everyone is correctly informed about the Covid-19 outbreak. We need to stop the fake news, the misinformation, the conspiracy theories, the fear, or people treating this like a joke due to sheer ignorance. We must use all media channels to transmit official information and those media channels must carefully monitor and report any false news reports. Everyone must know exactly which symptoms this virus could include and what to do when they feel them.
Furthermore, the media needs to stop adding to the anxiety. Showing mass graves or stressing the gravity of the pandemic could be considered news reporting but it strongly feel there should be some disclaimer required like for movie ratings PG or R. “Warning: Watching this news may lead to mental and emotional distress. We highly caution those under 18, over 65, or a anyone with mental illness or prone to sensitivity to consider not watching.”
The government lied that the lockdown would be short not because they didn’t know but because they didn’t want to create a panic. This virus isn’t going away anytime soon. It hasn’t even gone halfway through its’ cycle. Based on its’ spread rates, it is reasonable to estimate this pandemic will last 24 months.
