The Lies We Tell Ourselves

Would you call yourself a liar? Allow me to clarify before you stop reading. I think good people lie all the time but mostly not in a malicious way. Often these are innocent white lies like “yes, you look great” or ‘“this is delicious” simply to avoid hurting someone’s feelings. Today we’ll talk about the lies we tell ourselves like “I’m just not good/lucky/smart/rich/young/good-looking enough.” Sometimes we want to believe something because it comforts us to think we have a good excuse. It becomes our cross to bear like “I’m a parent”, or “I don’t have many resources” or a million other ones. I hear them every day! This lie becomes our ‘go-to’ retort/excuse for not taking action. It is simply untrue! It is time to stop and face the music because these are simply cop-outs. You actually can succeed at any level under any conditions. You don’t need to take my word for it. Search the Internet and you will always find someone in worse condition than you who still managed, despite everything, to succeed. What is your excuse? This doesn’t mean not having empathy for some roadblock or difficulty in your life. But just remember everyone has something and for yours, there is another much worse.
