The traditional job search methodology goes like this: right after college, a fresh graduate prepares a resume, opens up an online job search, filtering by job titles and experience requirements, finds one that matches his/her skills, and applies online. Happy end, right? Wrong: this career strategy doesn’t work for everyone by far.

In fact, times have changed a lot yet it seems that job search strategy hasn’t. In the old days, people did the same things, only offline, scouring newspapers and sending in written application letters.

Time for an upgrade!

Why Should We Upgrade the Job Search Method?

First of all, globalization means candidates are competing against others from a much larger demographic group than in the old days when jobs were for local candidates only. For every good job, that means often more than triple the applicants as in previous, pre-Internet days. Chances are shrinking and candidates must fight to get attention.
