There is never a right time to start a business. Life is not linear and no one can foresee the issues or circumstances one will face year-by-year enough to find the ‘perfect time. But one thing I know as a services business owner for 20 years and a serial entrepreneur is this: there is very rarely a good reason not to start one.

Who Should Start a Business?

Don’t get me wrong: entrepreneurship is not for everyone. It is not for you if:

  • you like it when someone else is in-charge
  • you don’t have big ambitions and just want to make a minimal living
  • you don’t want to have to manage your time or finances
  • you lack the experience, creativity, or knowledge to deliver services to others on your own without someone telling you exactly what, when, and how

On the other hand, here are the signs you are a born entrepreneur.

There is no right nor wrong choice, and your feelings and situation may change over time.
